Are you a Registered Kaiako who values calm, child-led learning and a truly connected teaching environment? Step into a peaceful Montessori environment where respect, independence and aroha shape every day.

We are on the lookout for an amazing Registered to join our team and inspire our young learners to reach their full potential!

About us

Oamaru Montessori is a purpose-built Montessori nursery and preschool. As part of the Busy Bees Aotearoa whānau, we combine the warmth of a local centre with the strength and support of a national organisation.

Our spaces are light-filled, calm and intentional, designed so tamariki can explore independently, follow their interests and develop confidence at their own pace.

Our kaiako guide learning with respect and patience, nurturing strong relationships with tamariki and whānau, and creating an environment grounded in manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and purposeful practice.

About you

You will bring an ECE or Primary teaching qualification and current NZ teacher registration, along with a calm, nurturing presence and a genuine passion for child-led learning. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships with children, whānau and colleagues, and feel confident with planning, curriculum and reflective practice. You value respectful teaching, independence, and environments that support focus and curiosity. An understanding of Montessori philosophy is an advantage, but a willingness to learn is welcomed.

Why you’ll love it here
  • Full Pay Parity
  • Discounted childcare
  • Monthly wellbeing budget and access to EAP
  • First aid certification and annual flu vaccination
  • Comprehensive induction, mentoring and ongoing professional development
  • A supportive, warm team who value calm practice, connection and collaboration
