Job summary

DOC is seeking a Ranger for Te Anau Bird Sanctuary. This 0.6 FTE fixed-term role focuses on daily care, welfare, and sanctuary upkeep for threatened and taonga native birds in Te Anau.

You will feed birds, maintain water supplies, and support biosecurity procedures while working as part of a small team. The position ends 30 June 2028 with pro rata hours for part-time work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

This hands-on role focuses on bird husbandry, animal welfare, and sanctuary upkeep. Working as part of a small team, you'll help ensure the sanctuary operates to a high standard while providing a safe and healthy environment for birds in our care.
