Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Lakes seeks an experienced Radiologist to join the Rotorua Hospital radiology team. The role involves working with consultant radiologists and support staff to deliver diagnostic and interventional imaging services.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to service delivery across inpatient, outpatient, ED, and primary sectors in the Lakes District.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered or eligible for MCNZ Vocational Scope as Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist.
  • Fellow of RANZCR or equivalent (e.g., FRCR) or training comparable to MCNZ standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic radiology services to inpatients and outpatients.
  • Deliver interventional radiology procedures as required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams.

We are seeking an experienced Radiologist to join our Radiology department at Rotorua Hospital.

About the Role

Joining our Radiologist department means working alongside a small, supportive, competent team of Consultant Radiologists and Radiology support staff. Our team includes Medical Imaging Technologists, Radiographers and Sonographers.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Radiology department is responsible for providing diagnostic and interventional services at Rotorua Hospital and a diagnostic service at Taupō Hospital as required. These services are delivered to inpatients, outpatients, the emergency department and the primary sector.

The range of services that we offer includes:

  • General Radiology
  • Fluoroscopy/Interventional Procedures
  • Computerised Tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

About you
  • Be registered, or be able to be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) under the Vocational Scope of Practice as an Interventional and Diagnostic Radiologist.
  • Be either a Fellow of RANZCR or be able to demonstrate either equivalence (e.g. FRCR) or completion of training in a comparable health care system to MCNZ standards as updated from time to time on their website.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work with patients in a multicultural and multidisciplinary setting.
