We are seeking a warm, passionate qualified teacher to join our Reggio Emilia–inspired centre in central Auckland. Our nurturing environment values children as competent, capable learners and emphasizes relationships, creativity, and exploration through meaningful play.

About us

At The Learning Corner ELC Ellerslie, our teaching philosophy is guided by Reggio Emilia, Te Whāriki, and bicultural practice. We believe tamariki learn best in environments that foster curiosity, collaboration, and self-expression. Our learning spaces are designed to promote independence, creativity, and inquiry. We work closely with whānau to support each child’s unique learning journey.

The role

This is a permanent 30-hour-per-week qualified teacher position. You will be part of our kaiako team, contributing to daily routines, planning, and high-quality teaching practice. You will help create a calm, engaging, and respectful learning environment where tamariki feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore.

Key responsibilities
  • Build warm, trusting relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
  • Support play, exploration, and learning through a Reggio-inspired approach
  • Assist with routines including kai times, supervision, care needs, and transitions
  • Work collaboratively to uphold the centre philosophy and values
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all learners
About you
  • Qualified and certificated ECE teacher
  • Knowledgeable in Te Whāriki and child-led practice
  • Open to Reggio Emilia principles and eager to learn
  • Positive communicator who values teamwork
  • Reliable, flexible, and confident in various teaching roles
  • Holds a current First Aid Certificate
