Job summary

Rocket Lab in New Zealand is seeking an evening-shift Propulsion Technician for assembly, testing and maintenance of propulsion engines. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of rocket components.

The role requires a trade-certified background in Mechanical or Electrical assembly, 4+ years of relevant experience, and a strong focus on safety, accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified with 4+ years in mechanical/electrical production or maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to follow processes with high attention to detail.
• Capable of inspecting assemblies to high workmanship standards.
• Experience with PPE and safety in hazardous environments.
• Worked in clean room environments including oxygen service cleanliness.
• Reads, understands and follows manufacturing drawings and instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; works in a team or independently.
• Willing to work long hours and remain calm under pressure.
• Has a relevant trade certificate in Mechanical or Electrical assembly.

Responsibilities

• Perform final assembly, testing and maintenance of propulsion engines.
• Work across engine/test stages within the Propulsion Assembly WorkCentre.
• Follow manufacturing instructions and quality processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet schedules.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and report deviations.
