Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Auckland is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to lead complex healthcare projects and programs, serving as the primary interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.

You will manage planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring patient care, safety and regulatory compliance while driving project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 5–10+ years of project management experience in healthcare or complex infrastructure.
• Full lifecycle knowledge from planning to commissioning.
• Experience with budgets, risks, contracts, and stakeholder engagement.
• Healthcare facility requirements and regulatory understanding is valued.

As a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager, you will lead the successful delivery of complex healthcare projects and programs, acting as the primary interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders. This role is ideal for an experienced project professional with a passion for delivering healthcare environments that support exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and future healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver healthcare projects, acting as the key client contact throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with healthcare stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and clinical teams.
• Manage project planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Monitor project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet operational and patient care needs.
• Manage contracts, vendors, and consultants to support successful project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and healthcare regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• 5-10+ years' project management experience, within healthcare, hospitals, aged care, life sciences, or complex infrastructure environments.
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from planning and design through to construction and commissioning.
• Proven experience managing budgets, risks, contracts, and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of healthcare facility requirements, compliance standards, and operational environments is highly regarded.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience with MS Project or Primavera is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Client-focused, proactive, and driven to deliver high-quality outcomes.
