About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Manager focused on Rural Development initiatives in the Queenstown, Eastern Cape region. This role is critical for planning, implementing, and overseeing projects aimed at improving infrastructure, economic opportunities, and social services in rural communities. You will work closely with local stakeholders, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to ensure projects are sustainable, impactful, and meet community needs. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of rural development projects, focusing on areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, education, and healthcare.

  • Develop project proposals, budgets, and implementation plans, ensuring alignment with funding requirements and development goals.
  • Coordinate activities with various stakeholders, including contractors, service providers, and community groups.
  • Monitor project progress, evaluate impact, and prepare regular reports for funders and relevant authorities.
  • Ensure the sustainability and long-term success of development initiatives through capacity building and community involvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with a focus on community or rural development projects.
  • Proven experience working with diverse stakeholder groups in rural settings.
  • Strong understanding of development principles and challenges in South African rural contexts.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
