Job summary

Watercare Services Ltd in Auckland is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex wastewater infrastructure projects, from feasibility to handover into detailed design. You will coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and contractors, manage scope, budgets, risk and quality, and build robust business cases with strong stakeholder engagement.

A relevant tertiary qualification and 5+ years' experience are required; PRINCE2 or PMP qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, science, planning, environmental management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years’ engineering and/or project management experience.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and contractors.
• Strong capability in project, financial, programme, risk and contract management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Reporting to the Team Lead – Wastewater Planning Delivery, you’ll manage projects from business need through feasibility and concept design, ensuring they are well defined, technically robust and ready to transition into detailed design. You’ll bring together technical specialists, consultants and key stakeholders while managing scope, programme, budget, risk and quality.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading wastewater projects through feasibility and early design.

You’ll be an experienced Project Manager who enjoys solving complex problems, bringing people together and driving projects forward.

You’ll be a confident communicator with strong commercial awareness and the ability to navigate competing priorities and stakeholder needs. Most importantly, you’ll take ownership and be motivated by delivering infrastructure that makes a meaningful difference.

You’ll bring:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, science, planning, environmental management or a related discipline.
• 5+ years’ engineering and/or project management experience.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants and contractors.
• Strong project, financial, programme, risk and contract management capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Wastewater or wider water infrastructure experience is desirable, along with formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP
