Job summary

Dempsey Wood Civil in Whangarei, North Island, is seeking a Project Engineer for a site-based role in Northland. You will support daily site operations, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and help manage budget and timelines.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in earthworks/civil infra, a relevant tertiary qualification, and a solid understanding of health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ site-based experience in earthworks and/or civil infrastructure.
• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Financial acumen and attention to detail.
• Health and Safety focused.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Full Class 1 license.
• Follows instructions and takes pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the site.
• Liaise with clients and subcontractors to ensure alignment and progress.
• Update the contract programme and schedule.
• Process invoices and assist with payment claims.
• Engage the wider site team to deliver quality work on time and within budget.
