Job summary

sKids is seeking a Centre Leader in Auckland to lead and manage our Kingsway site. This role offers a minimum of 15 contracted hours per week Monday to Friday, with potential for extra hours during school holidays. You’ll supervise a team, deliver engaging activities, and ensure safe, high-quality programmes for children.

Ideal candidates bring childcare or education experience, strong leadership, and reliable transport to Kumeu sites. Join a supportive team and grow professionally with us.

Qualifications

• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
• Experience in childcare, education, coaching, camps, or similar.
• Leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
• Reliable transport to our two sites within Kumeu for ease of access.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support a variety of activities including arts & crafts, sports, games, cooking, and creative play.
• Supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment.
• Use positive behaviour guidance to support children with different needs.
• Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and school staff.
• Support or lead the day-to-day running of the programme from set-up through pack-down.
• Guide and support team members to deliver a high-quality programme.

We are recruiting for a Centre Leader to lead & manager our sKids Kingsway site. This role offers up to a minimum of 15 contracted hours per week (Monday to Friday only, no weekends work required!). We also run the programme during school holidays and you'll have the opportunity to gain more hours during our holiday programmes!

Working Hours (Monday to Friday):

• Before School Care: 7:00am – 8:30am
• After School Care: 2:30pm – 6:00pm (availability from 2:30pm is essential)
• School Holiday Programme hours available (between 7am - 6pm)

About the Role

You will:

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and caring individuals who enjoy working with children.

You’ll bring:

• The legal right to work in New Zealand
• Reliable transport to our 2 new sites within Kumeu. Ideal candidates would need to be located around Kumue for ease of transportation.
• A positive, energetic, and can-do attitude
• Experience in childcare, education, coaching, camps, or similar
• Leadership or supervisory experience (for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager roles)
• Confidence working with groups of children
• Applicants applying for Programme Manager and Assistant Programme Manager positions must be 20 years or older, in accordance with the Social Security (Childcare Assistance) Regulations 2004
