Job summary

Toitū is seeking a Programme Lead to deliver our climate impact programmes, working with organisations across sectors to advance credible, science-based outcomes. You will guide clients through sustainability journeys, coordinating projects and building trusted relationships while navigating climate legislation and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in client-facing roles delivering service and building relationships.
• Background in environmental sustainability and/or technical account management.
• Passion for helping organisations improve sustainability and reduce carbon footprint.
• Technical understanding of climate legislation (preferred).
• Familiarity with environmental issues across sectors.
• Strong relationship-building and mentoring skills; ability to problem-solve.
• Project coordination experience is desirable.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently and meet objectives.
• Relevant tertiary qualification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Toitū Climate Impact programmes for clients.

Demand for climate, sustainability, and decarbonisation services is accelerating, and Toitū is well positioned to help organisations respond. We're looking for a Programme Lead to deliver our Toitū Climate Impact programmes.

As a Programme Lead, you will work closely with companies across a variety of sectors, helping them navigate the complexities of sustainability and environmental stewardship while achieving credible, science-based climate outcomes. Working alongside our experienced team and wider Toitū whānau, you'll have the opportunity to learn, grow, and deepen your environmental expertise while playing a direct role in accelerating climate action across Aotearoa.

We're seeking an individual with proven experience in ISO 14064 and supporting organisations through carbon audit and verification processes. The ideal candidate will be able to build trusted client relationships, bring a passion for sustainability and carbon reduction and possess strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

This is an Auckland or Wellington-based role and will involve occasional travel.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a passionate individual who combines technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills. You'll bring:

• Experience in client-facing or customer service roles, with a proven ability to deliver exceptional service and build strong relationships
• A background in environmental sustainability and/or technical account management experience
• A passion for assisting businesses and organisations in improving their sustainability and reducing their carbon footprint
• Technical understanding of current climate legislation and requirements (preferred)
• Familiarity with environmental and sustainability issues across multiple sectors
• Exceptional relationship building and mentoring skills and the ability to problem solve
• Skilled in project coordination - Project management experience (desirable)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work efficiently and meet objectives with minimal supervision
• A relevant tertiary qualification
