Job summary

FileInvite Ltd is hiring a full-stack product engineer to build AI-driven capabilities from discovery through production in our Auckland hub. You’ll own features across frontend, backend, data and infrastructure, with accountability for what ships and how it runs in production.

You’ll collaborate with product and QA, contribute to architectural decisions and maintain a strong focus on secure coding, compliance and cloud-based delivery using Laravel, Vue/React and AWS.

Qualifications

• Server-side framework, modern JS UI framework and cloud platform experience (AWS).
• Ability to plan work for agents, verification loops and parallel development.

At FileInvite, you'll join our Platform team as a full-stack product engineer, taking new capabilities from discovery through to production and keeping them healthy once they're live. Reporting to our Chief Product & Technology Officer, you'll use AI agents as a core part of how the work gets done, while staying accountable for what ships. You'll help build the document collection platform that commercial lenders rely on to move loans forward, working in a team of peers where no one is a bottleneck. This role is based in Penrose, Auckland.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver new features, capabilities, bug fixes and security improvements across the whole stack, including reliable integrations with the systems our customers already use.
• Take work through the full lifecycle, from discovery and customer conversations through to design, build, test, deployment and support.
• Direct agent-driven development: plan and specify the work, run agents in parallel, manage context and build verification loops that give you confidence in what ships.
• Own how your work runs in production, including monitoring, performance and incident response.
• Champion secure coding and support our SOC 2 Type II and GDPR commitments, recognising the sensitive financial documents our customers trust us with.
• Contribute to technical planning, estimation and architectural decisions, and look for ways to reduce technical debt.
• Work closely with product and quality colleagues, pair or swarm on harder problems, and share the techniques and tooling that work so the whole team gets better.

About you

There's no minimum number of years for this role. It's open to people at different career stages, and we'll focus on what you can do and how you work. You'll be comfortable running solo when the work calls for it and collaborating well when it gets complex. You treat colleagues with respect, share what you know and build things the team can maintain.

You'll bring

• A track record of shipping production software across frontend, backend, data and infrastructure, with real depth in one area and practical competence in the rest.
• Hands-on experience with a server-side web framework, a modern JavaScript UI framework and a major cloud platform. Our stack includes Laravel (PHP), Vue and React on AWS, and strength in similar tools counts just as much.
• Advanced AI-assisted engineering practice, including planning and breaking down work for agents, verification loops, parallel development, context management and grounding agents in a codebase.
• Personal projects or experiments that show this practice and that you can walk us through.
• Sound judgement about where AI-generated code fails, and the discipline to review and verify it.
• Security and compliance awareness suited to a regulated environment.
• Clear written and spoken communication, including across time zones.

Bonus points if you've worked in fintech, lending or financial services.
