Job summary

Tribe Group in New Zealand is seeking a strategic Category Manager to design, implement, and oversee category strategies that deliver measurable outcomes across multiple sectors.

You will manage key supplier relationships, lead complex negotiations, and champion innovation that drives efficiency and impact, balancing strategic vision with hands-on delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in category management, procurement, or commercial leadership.
• Ability to communicate at senior levels of organisations.
• Strong procurement, negotiation, and contract management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound judgement, organisational awareness and political sensitivity.
• Must be a New Zealand citizen, resident, or have the right to work in NZ with a valid visa.

What You’ll Bring

You will have a good level of experience in a similar role and be a strategic thinker with proven expertise in category management, procurement, or commercial leadership. You will be able to balance strategic vision with hands‑on delivery and have the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Demonstrated ability to communicate at senior levels of organisations
• Well-developed procurement, negotiation, and contract management skills
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
• Exercise sound judgement, organisational awareness and political sensitivity
