Job summary

Change Grow Live is seeking a Prison In‑Reach Recovery Coordinator to assess service users, coordinate resettlement plans from prison, and advocate on their behalf for right interventions.

You will engage with individuals with complex needs, reduce related harms, and work with partners to support reintegration and community involvement. DBS clearance and HMPPS security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain prison security clearance.
• Strong understanding of substance misuse issues and related services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good IT skills.
• Proactive, with strong time management and prioritising abilities.
• Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation.
• Experience working with individuals with offending backgrounds and MAPPA.
• Knowledge of mental health interventions and related services.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse professionals and stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to change while prioritising service users’ needs.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Prison In‑Reach Recovery Coordinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.

You will have some experience of engaging with individuals with multiple and/or complex needs and demonstrate a determined approach to finding solutions.

The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain HMPPS security clearance

About The Role

• The Prison In‑Reach Worker will act as the main coordinator providing comprehensive assessments; Coordinate the resettlement plan from prison by liaising with relevant agencies
• The post holder will be the navigator for these interventions, and advocate on behalf of the service user.
• Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
• Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
• Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
• Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self‑determination
• Carry out comprehensive service user assessments, including mapping of community resources and develop individual action plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing offending/substance use and re/integrating into the community
• Work closely with prison security departments when assessing risk and develop strong links with partner agencies within the prison system
• Work as part of a team to identify people who have a history of substance misuse and reoffending resulting in custodial sentences

About You

• Ability to obtain and maintain prison security clearance
• Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field
• Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
• Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills
• Knowledge of anti‑social behaviour legislation
• Experience of working with people who have offending backgrounds including Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements.
• Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
• Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
• Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Full‑time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part‑time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
