Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children seeks a Principal Advisor Investment to join the Strategic Finance Team in National Office Wellington on a fixed-term basis until 30 June 2027. You will provide specialist investment advice, develop multiyear plans, and ensure investments align with financial goals.

The role requires delivering rigorous financial analysis, risk assessments and stakeholder engagement to support priority investments across the organisation.

Qualifications

Extensive experience developing investment plans for a government agency.
Strong ability to conduct financial analysis and risk assessments.
Proven capability to engage with stakeholders and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead development of an investment plan to standardise investment decision-making.
Support strategic planning and budgeting processes across Oranga Tamariki.
Provide investment expertise and guidance aligned with financial objectives.
Analyze investments including funding needs and financial statements.
Provide consolidated view of investment portfolio trends and cost drivers.
Identify and manage risks with mitigation strategies.
