Job summary

people2people is seeking a Principal Advisor in Wellington to lead the development of high-quality policy advice for Ministers on complex issues. The role oversees policy projects, mentors staff, and builds sound frameworks to guide policy development.

You will work within a collaborative policy community to support and coach team members while delivering outcomes across the education sector and beyond.

Qualifications

• Senior policy leadership experience in a complex environment.
• Ability to deliver integrated strategic policy advice.
• Ability to apply Treaty principles in policy development.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to present complex issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and undertake analysis and advice on a broad range of complex policy issues
• Produce rigorous, high-quality policy research and advice informed by operational considerations
• Develop advice that advances outcomes for diverse stakeholders
• Supervise, coach, and mentor junior staff while overseeing policy projects
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective policy implementation.
