About ProCare

ProCare is New Zealand's largest Primary Health Organisation, we represent a network of general practice teams and healthcare professionals who provide care to nearly 700,000 patients across Auckland. We provide and manage a wide range of clinical services supporting patients, and clinicians within our Network and a number of services that are provided across the Northern region and wider. For the past 15 years ProCare has established and managed the Access to Diagnostics service in Auckland and Counties Manukau Districts. Health NZ have asked us to extend this service to establish the Regional Hub for the Northern Region's implementation of the Nationally consistent Community Referred Radiology service.

The Opportunity

A new Community Referred Radiology (CRR) programme is being implemented across New Zealand to ensure nationally consistent, high-quality access to imaging directly from primary care. To support this, ProCare is seeking Primary Care Radiology Liaisons (PCRL) to join our regional CRR Hub.

As a PCRL, you will bridge the interface between Primary Care and Radiology Services, ensuring a sustainable, efficient, and equitable community imaging service. You'll work collaboratively with radiology networks, district radiology services, and the General Practitioner Radiology Liaison (GPRL) Regional Lead, supporting implementation of the CRR referral criteria and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Triaging and prioritising community radiology referrals against national criteria
  • Providing clinical advice and education to both primary care and radiology teams
  • Building strong relationships and mutual understanding between primary care and radiology specialists
  • Supporting quality improvement through regular audit and review processes
  • Promoting consistent, timely, and patient-centred imaging pathways

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of New Zealand's key health reform initiatives, improving early diagnosis and access to care through community-based imaging.
