Job description

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Developer to help build secure, scalable business solutions across the wider Microsoft ecosystem. Power Platform is the core of this role, but the opportunity extends beyond apps and workflows into Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure, enterprise integration and AI-enabled solutions. You will connect applications, trusted data and intelligent automation to improve business processes and decision-making, working closely with business teams and Information Systems colleagues from design through to delivery and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Applications & automation: Design, build, test and deploy Canvas Apps, model-driven apps, Power Pages and Power Automate workflows that simplify business processes.
  • End-to-end solution design: Translate business requirements into reusable solution designs, technical specifications, data models and integrations, considering application, data and AI capabilities together.
  • Data platforms & analytics: Contribute to data pipelines, lakehouse and data warehouse solutions, and Power BI semantic models and reporting. Apply data lake, lakehouse and warehouse concepts to organise, transform and deliver trusted data for business use.
  • AI-enabled solutions: Identify where AI adds practical value and incorporate it into designs and build-outs, rather than treating it as an add‑on. Develop agents and intelligent workflows using approved tools such as Copilot Studio and AI Builder, with trusted data, appropriate human oversight, testing and consumption controls.
  • Enterprise integration: Connect solutions with Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, ERP, CRM and other business systems using APIs, approved connectors and Microsoft cloud services.
  • Collaboration & adoption: Work with business analysts, project managers, data owners and users to agree requirements, validate outcomes and support adoption through practical training.
  • Governance & lifecycle management: Apply security, privacy, data governance and application lifecycle management practices, including controlled environments, version control, testing and repeatable deployment.
  • Support & continuous improvement: Maintain applications, automations, data products and AI solutions; resolve issues, monitor reliability and maintain clear documentation and support handovers.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • At least five years’ experience developing and delivering business applications, automation, data or analytics solutions.
  • Strong hands‑on capability with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint and Power BI; experience with Power Pages is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of data lake, lakehouse and data warehouse architectures and structures, including raw and curated data layers, dimensional modelling and the role of pipelines and semantic models.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure is preferred, particularly Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL or data integration services. Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, data pipelines or notebooks, is advantageous.
  • An understanding of how to incorporate AI capabilities into application, workflow and data solution designs. Experience with Copilot Studio, AI Builder, AI agents, generative AI or intelligent automation is preferred.
  • Practical skills in SQL, Power Query, DAX and Power Fx, with experience using APIs, JSON or JavaScript to integrate and extend solutions.
  • Experience across requirements analysis, solution design, data modelling, testing, deployment and support, using Agile or Waterfall delivery approaches as appropriate.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management, managed solutions, deployment pipelines and version control; familiarity with GitHub or Azure DevOps is advantageous.
  • An understanding of security, privacy, data quality, access controls and responsible AI practices, with a focus on maintainable and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business users.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Power BI, Fabric or Azure are preferred.
