New Zealand Police, based at Police National Headquarters in Wellington, seeks a permanent Portfolio Advisor in the Investment Management team. The role supports data integrity, advice and analysis, and the delivery of portfolio management systems and processes.

The successful candidate will manage data records, assist governance activities, and contribute to enterprise portfolio performance reporting while building strong stakeholder relationships across projects and programmes.

To support these ambitions, Police currently seek applications for the permanent appointment of a Portfolio Advisor working in our Investment Management team. This key role is responsible for providing a high level of support to the business and senior team members with respect to data integrity, advice and analysis, and supporting the successful delivery of portfolio management systems and processes.

Key Accountabilities:

• Contributes to methods and practices for the effective planning, monitoring and delivery of the portfolio of projects. This includes: collecting, recording, and maintaining the integrity of key data points for the portfolio of projects across areas such as benefits, assurance, milestones, risks, and financials; assisting in the development and continuous improvement of delivery frameworks; delivery of regular portfolio, programme, and project induction and training.
• Responsible for assistance with key planning activities, including: assessment and feedback on project governance documents; establishing records within Police’s PPM tool (Sentient); maintenance of the enterprise governance decision record.
• Responsible for the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of the Enterprise Investment Pipeline, including: tracking of core baseline information for projects and reporting on current status; monthly pipeline reporting and analysis to determine slippage, risk, and opportunities within the portfolio.
• Contributes to strategic level commentary on the portfolio-wide view of Portfolio, Programmes and Projects. This includes: assisting in the development of enterprise portfolio performance reporting and trend analysis; assisting in the development of key opportunities and challenges across the overall health of the investment system.
• Builds and maintains strong working relationships with Portfolio Support functions and wider project delivery community. This includes: effective stakeholder communication to ensure that the best information is available to support decision‑making; general query response and provision of advice and guidance across projects and programmes.

This position is covered by a collective agreement, and salary will commence between $88,179 and $92,267 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
