Job summary

The Ministry of Health - Manatū Hauora in Wellington is seeking a Policy Analyst to contribute to meaningful policy work across the health system. You’ll focus on workforce issues within the Government’s Royal Commission response, working with experienced policy professionals and stakeholders to develop evidence-informed advice.

You’ll join a collaborative, cross-agency environment and help translate research into practical policy options, while upholding equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in health or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience developing policy advice or strong understanding of social policy issues.
• Strong organisational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Sound critical thinking and judgement for issue analysis and practical advice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to high-quality policy and regulatory advice on workforce issues in response to the Royal Commission.
• Support policy projects with analysis, planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across the Ministry and health sector to deliver policy initiatives.
• Provide practical policy advice and identify opportunities to improve processes and tools.
• Build effective working relationships reflecting equity priorities and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
