Fluid Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-regarded planning consultancy looking to expand its Auckland-based team. With a proven reputation for navigating the resource consent process efficiently and effectively, this close-knit group is seeking a Planning Consultant to help manage a growing workload of development projects.

You'll be joining a smaller team, meaning greater exposure to the full planning process, more direct client interaction, and opportunities to contribute ideas that shape how the team operates. Specialising in residential developments ranging from single lot to large-scale subdivisions. Collaboration and communication are central to their culture, and flexible working arrangements are available, with a preference for team members to be in the office to maintain a supportive and social environment.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in planning or a related field (NZPI membership desirable)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in resource management practice
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills along with an ability to communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders
  • Sound understanding of the Resource Management Act (RMA) and planning processes
Responsibilities

As a Planning Consultant, you'll be responsible for preparing reports and managing the end-to-end resource consent process, from client onboarding through to decision. Working mainly

You will work directly with clients, councils, and other professionals, ensuring smooth progress and clear communication at every stage. In a smaller team, you'll enjoy the variety of working on different project types and the satisfaction of seeing your input directly influence successful outcomes.
