Job summary

Riccarton Clinic in Christchurch is seeking a compassionate Physician Associate (PA) to join our General Practice and Urgent Care team on a full-time basis, with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Working under supervision, you will assess, diagnose, and support the management of a broad range of conditions.

You will collaborate with GPs, nurses, and other health professionals to provide accessible, patient-centred care, uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and contribute to equitable health

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification related to Physician Associate role.
• At least five years of clinical experience in Urgent Care or General Practice within the last ten years.
• Ability to work under clinical supervision within an agreed scope of practice.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and patient management skills.
• Commitment to inclusive, equitable healthcare delivery.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive patient assessments and formulate differential diagnoses.
• Assist Medical Practitioners with medicines and procedures as appropriate.
• Support management of acute and long-term health conditions.
• Collaborate with GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, and other health professionals.
