Job summary

NZMA Auckland Sylvia Park Campus is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Tutor to deliver the Pharmacy Technician programme, sharing extensive pharmacy experience with a focus on community pharmacy and essential dispensing techniques.

You must be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist or an experienced Pharmacy Technician with NZ Certificate L5 or NZ Diploma L6. Teaching experience is not required as we provide comprehensive training and teaching tools to help you succeed in your tutor role.

Qualifications

• You will need to be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist, or be an experienced Pharmacy Technician holding a NZ Certificate in Pharmacy Technician L5 or NZ Diploma in Pharmacy Technician (Specialist) L6.
• We are looking for someone with a passion for Pharmacy Education and educating future pharmacy technicians in this industry.
• You don’t need any experience in teaching as we will provide you with comprehensive training and support you with teaching tools to become successful in your tutor role.
• In addition, you will have: Industry background with proven professional experience in New Zealand; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Able to practice patience & try out new things; Connect and build relationships with all your students from all walks of life; Passionate and enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and fostering success; Most importantly, maintain a positive & enthusiastic attitude; Teaching experience advantageous but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Pharmacy Technician programme as part of NZMA Auckland Sylvia Park Campus.
• Pass on knowledge gained from extensive pharmacy experience with emphasis on community pharmacy and the required skill set for Pharmacy Technicians.
• Cover anatomy and physiology, OTC, dispensing techniques including calculations, compliance packaging and compounding, OTC, pharmacy legislation, and professionalism.
