Job summary

Extrastaff, aLabourHire Company, is recruiting full-time Structural Steel Fabricators for projects across New Zealand. Roles involve placement, securing, and tying structural steel components per engineering plans to ensure safety and integrity.

Candidates should have 2+ years of steel fabrication experience, be able to read technical drawings, and demonstrate good physical fitness. Travel across NZ regions is required with relocation costs covered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience working with structural steel placement and reinforcement tying (local or overseas)
• Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings
• Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity
• Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control in steel construction
• Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components
• Tie reinforcement steel using correct techniques for various reinforcement systems
• Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely and safe installation of steelwork
• Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site
• Work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines
