Job summary

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand is seeking an innovative Occupational Therapist to join the Tāwhirimātea inpatient team within the Regional Rehabilitation Service. The role focuses on recovery and rehabilitation for tangata whaiora in a low secure forensic mental health setting, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to support transition to the community.

You will contribute through specialised assessments, person-centered care plans, and documentation that reflects independence and goals

Qualifications

• APC eligibility and board membership are required.
• Full NZ Driver License required.
• Experience in Mental Health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with MDT to support transition from inpatient care to the community.
• Provide specialised assessment and treatment for people with enduring mental illness.
• Ensure person-centered care plans reflect independence and recovery goals.
• Document occupational therapy-led activities and progress clearly to the MDT and whanau.
