Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking a Paediatric Heart Failure and Transplant Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Starship Child Health. This senior nursing role provides expert clinical leadership across inpatient, outpatient and community care for infants, children and adolescents with advanced heart failure and transplantation.

The CNS will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, lead quality improvement, and promote family-centred, culturally safe care aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NZ Annual Practising Certificate.
• Postgraduate qualification in nursing (minimum diploma, Masters preferred).
• At least 5 years paediatric nursing experience or equivalent in advanced paediatric cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing leadership and clinical care for infants, children and adolescents with heart failure and transplant needs.
• Coordinate care across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
• Lead education, quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Support family engagement and culturally safe care for whānau.
