Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Hamilton, NZ is hiring a part-time Dental Assistant on a fixed-term contract to cover parental leave. The role involves assisting clinicians in dental care for children and supporting clinic operations within fixed clinics and mobile units across the Southern team.

The base will be Matamata, with flexibility to cover nearby areas as needed. You will work with preschool and school-age children, contributing to a friendly team focused on improving oral health.

Qualifications

• A full current driver's licence.
• The ability to prioritise effectively.
• Good communication and leadership competency.
• Computer skills.
• Conscientious and reliable.
• Dental assistant experience or working with children, customer service or health care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide dental care assistance to preschool and school-age children.
• Support clinicians, dental therapists and community dentists in care and clinic administration.
• Assist in fixed clinics and mobile units within the Southern team (Cambridge, Morrinsville, Matamata and Mobile unit).
• Base primarily in Matamata with flexibility to cover other areas as needed.
• Participate in trainings and service needs within Hamilton.
