Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Timaru is seeking a Payroll Team Lead to manage a small team of three payroll officers and to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in compliance with New Zealand legislation.

You will work with HR to understand payroll impacts and drive improvements, while engaging staff across the site in Timaru Hospital. This permanent full-time role offers 80 hours per fortnight with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with Collective agreements (advantageous in health)
• Extensive knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and payroll systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to engage employees' skills around the use of new technology
• Proven ability to lead and drive collaboration with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Lead our local payroll team of three officers and manage day-to-day payroll processing
• Ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll and address issues with HR to manage impacts
