Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Blenheim is seeking a part-time Anaesthetist for a fixed-term 0.7FTE (56 hours a fortnight) over 9 months from early May 2027. You will deliver high-quality perioperative care as part of a collaborative team.

Join seven experienced SMO colleagues and an active surgical/ICU group, with rosters including elective and acute services, after-hours on-call support, and pre‑assessment clinics.

Qualifications

• FANZCA fellowship (or equivalent) required.
• Eligible for Annual Practicing Certificate with a vocational scope of Anaesthesia.
• Senior medical officer or fellow level with anaesthesia experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality perioperative care across surgical specialties.
• Participate in anaesthetic roster and contribute to elective and acute services.
• Provide after-hours on-call support and anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics.
• Fulfill duty anaesthetist responsibilities to ensure patient safety and outcomes.
