Job summary

Starship Child Health is seeking a Simulation Nurse Educator to join the Douglas Starship Simulation Programme on a part-time (0.4FTE) basis. The role involves designing, facilitating, and delivering high-quality simulation-based education to strengthen clinical capability and teamwork across Aotearoa.

You will work with an experienced multidisciplinary team, promote reflective practice, and support continuous improvement in paediatric care, with national outreach.

Qualifications

• Registered NZ Nurse with APC and ongoing registration.
• Postgraduate certificate/diploma in nursing or related field.
• Experience teaching in clinical settings.
• PDRP Proficient or Expert.
• Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable care.
• Paediatric acute and/or high acuity care experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, facilitate and deliver high-quality simulation-based education.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to strengthen clinical capability and teamwork.
• Strengthen learning experiences to support reflection and ongoing improvement.
• Contribute to national outreach programme and paediatric healthcare education.
