Job summary

Nestlé New Zealand is seeking a Product and Packaging Technologist in Auckland (Wiri) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will lead NPD/I&R projects, run factory trials, and ensure packaging meets quality and regulatory standards. A 3+ year background in packaging/product development in food manufacturing is required.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stages, and drive improvements while adhering to Nestlé policies. NZ working rights are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Food Science, Applied Science, Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 3+ years in product & packaging development within the food manufacturing industry.
• Experience with project management and stakeholder management.
• Participation in Stage Gate managed new product introduction projects and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute New Product Development (NPD) and Ideation and Realisation (I&R) within a cross-functional team.
• Participate in factory trials and evaluate results for optimized product/packaging design.
• Ensure packaging and product standards meet technical, safety, food safety & regulatory compliance.
• Lead packaging function for the site, work with suppliers and corporate packaging to ensure compliant packaging aspects.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations and use SAP for development recipes and materials.
