Job summary

Downer New Zealand is hiring a Gardener in Hamilton to maintain parks, reserves and public spaces. This hands-on role covers planting, pruning, weed control, edging, mulching and garden upkeep across designated sites, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

You should enjoy physical outdoor work, be able to operate basic tools, and communicate well with the public. A full driver's license is preferred; training and a supportive team await.

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to work outdoors.
• Experience with hedge trimmers, weed eaters, knapsack sprayers.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Planting, pruning, weed control, edging, mulching.
