Job Summary
Carpenters construct, erect, install, renovate, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials. They work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Studying blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials to construct frameworks, furniture, and structures.
- Installing fixtures, fittings, and structures such as windows, doors, stairs, and cabinets.
- Inspecting materials and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and building codes.
- Repairing or replacing damaged or worn structures, fixtures, or furniture.
- Constructing and installing frameworks for walls, ceilings, and floors.
- Assembling and installing partitions, shopfronts, and signage.
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines.
- Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and regulations.
- Reading and interpreting building plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and other building materials.
- Constructing, installing and repairing timber framing, walls, floors, roofs, doors and other building components.
- Installing and fitting building materials and fixtures as required.
- Carrying out renovation, maintenance and repair work.
- Using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
- Checking completed work for accuracy, quality and compliance with building requirements.
- Working with other trades and site staff to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintaining a clean and safe workarea and following all health and safety requirements.
- Performing other general carpentry duties reasonably required for construction projects.
- Construct and assemble modular building components (walls, floors, roofs).
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Install framing, cladding, linings, and finishes.
- Ensure builds meet quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Work collaboratively with production and design teams.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace.
Requirements
- At least two years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of building plans and specifications.
- Ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
- Physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Problem-solving and time management skills.
- 2+ years of relevant experience or a relevant level 4 qualification.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- At least two years of work experience as a carpenter or construction worker or similar is required.
- Relevant qualification or certificate is a bonus.
- Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role.
- Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.
- A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.
- Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
- Must not have any criminal record.

Location & Working Hours
- Primary address of work: Auckland.
- Location: Auckland.
- Number of vacancies: 5-6 positions.
- Employment type: Permanent full time / Full-time.
- Minimum hours per week: 30 hours.
- Maximum hours per week: 50 hours (or 60 hours in some postings).
- Minimum hours per week: 30 hours guaranteed.
- Hours: 40 hours per week (minimum 30 hours guaranteed).
Salary
- Hourly rate low salary range: $26/hour.
- Hourly rate high salary range: $33/hour.
- Pay rate $25-$30 per hour.
- Salary Range: $25-29 per hour.
- Minimum hourly rate (low salary range): $26/hour.
- Maximum hourly rate (high salary range): $33/hour.
- Payrate $32.00 to $40.00 per hour.
- Pay: Hourly $25- $30.
