MedRecruit Limited is assisting a major Auckland hospital in seeking an Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon. Expressions of Interest are invited from surgeons with spinal orthopaedic experience to join a large tertiary team in 2027.

The role focuses on both trauma and elective spine procedures within a comprehensive care model. The hospital is located in Auckland's premier medical precinct, known for specialized expertise, advanced technology and renowned staff.

About you

We welcome interest from Orthopaedic Consultants with spinal orthopaedic experience to join our clients team in 2027. The successful candidate would need to have a keen interest in spine trauma as well as elective spine procedures to meet the departments current needs.

To join their team as an Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon you need to be a highly qualified, vocationally registered orthopaedic surgeon with specialized, fellowship-level training in spinal surgery. Previous experience in adult degenerative, deformity, metastatic disease and primary tumour procedures is preferred.

Located in Auckland, this is one of the largest tertiary teaching hospitals in New Zealand, with around 800 beds.

Annually, the hospital admits more than 91,000 in-patients, and handle in excess of 354,000 day-patients and outpatient attendances.

The hospital offers secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care, a selected range of community and domiciliary services, and also provides niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers. Internationally, the hospital is known for their work in orthopaedics and spinal injury rehabilitation, as well as being the site of the National Burns Centre.
