Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 28/01/2026, End Date: 27/01/2027 (ORS funded)

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

Trentham School, as the employing school, is seeking a skilled and compassionate ORS specialist teacher to join our team. This position combines two roles:

  • 0.6 FTTE in the ORS specialist teacher role
  • 0.4 FTTE as a learning support coordinator (LSC)

Together, these create a full-time (1.0 FTTE) position offering an exciting opportunity to provide creative and expert guidance in learning support.

This combined role brings together:

  • The 0.6 ORS specialist teacher position currently advertised at Trentham School
  • The 0.4 LSC position advertised by Te Kura o Hau Karetu

We are looking for an educator who:

  • Has proven experience supporting tamariki with diverse learning needs
  • Understands the New Zealand learning support system, processes, and pathways
  • Builds strong relationships with whānau, staff, and external agencies
  • Brings a strengths-based, culturally responsive approach
  • Is highly organised, collaborative, and committed to equitable outcomes for all learners

The successful candidate will:

  • Work 0.6 FTTE alongside our kaiako, teacher aides, and SENCo
  • Work 0.4 FTTE within the LSC network and leadership team to coordinate learning support, strengthen inclusive practice, and ensure smooth systems and processes that benefit our ākonga

A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally sustaining practice is essential.
