Job summary

KiwiQuest in Central Otago seeks a full-time orchard machinery operator to support harvest logistics and maintain safe, efficient fruit production across Otago orchards.

You will operate tractors with mowers, sprayers, cultivators and bin trailers; apply orchard sprays and fertiliser; assist harvest transport and bin handling; perform pre-start checks and routine maintenance; troubleshoot basic mechanical issues; and follow health, safety and biosecurity protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Prior machinery experience preferred but not essential.
• Good physical fitness.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication, honesty and integrity.
• New Zealand resident or citizen.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors with mowers, sprayers, cultivators and bin trailers.
• Apply orchard sprays and fertiliser safely and accurately.
• Assist harvest logistics, fruit transport and bin handling.
• Complete pre-start checks and routine machinery maintenance.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues.
• Follow health, safety and biosecurity protocols.
• Assist with other orchard tasks as required.
