Job summary

Matthews Eyewear Eyecare in Cambridge, New Zealand, seeks an experienced Optometrist to join our busy independent practice, working 3–4 days per week with full-time hours possible for the right candidate.

You will handle acute presentations, diagnose and manage ocular disease, and work with two senior Optometrists and dispensing Opticians using advanced diagnostic imaging.

Qualifications

• Registration as an Optometrist in New Zealand.
• Strong clinical skills and confidence managing acute eye presentations.
• Experience diagnosing and managing ocular disease.
• Therapeutic prescribing experience.
• Patient-centred approach and excellent communication skills.
• Collaborative team player.

We are looking for an experienced Optometrist to join our busy independent practice in Cambridge, working 3-4 days per week, with full-time hours considered for the right person.

This is a great opportunity for an Optometrist who is confident managing acute presentations, enjoys clinical variety, and wants to work at the top of their scope. We see a high volume of acute appointments, so strong experience in diagnosing and managing ocular disease is essential.

You will be joining a highly experienced and supportive team, including two senior Optometrists and a strong team of qualified Dispensing Opticians. With access to advanced diagnostic and imaging technology, you will have the tools and clinical support to provide exceptional patient care and achieve the best possible outcomes.

What we are looking for:

Registration as an Optometrist in New Zealand

Strong clinical skills and confidence managing acute eye presentations

Experience diagnosing and managing ocular disease
