Sims Limited is seeking a motivated machine operator to join our Napier yard. You will grade and purchase metals and safely operate machinery to sort and transfer material, with full training provided for successful applicants.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork as you handle vehicles, bins and transfer equipment. Previous customer service experience is valued, with training and progression opportunities offered.

Join a Growing Team in the Metal Recycling Industry

Reporting to the Yard Leading Hand, you will grade and purchase metals as well as safely operate machinery to sort and transfer this material out. Full training will be provided for the successful applicants!

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Ensure customers receive a high level of service.
• Grading and sorting metals.
• Demonstrating personal responsibility for and commitment to OH&S policies and procedures.
• Load & unload trucks, skip bins, and trailers.
• Operate equipment, including forklift, NF baler and alligator shear

To Be Successful In This Opportunity, You Will Have

• Attention to detail – This role involves working with metal and requires the ability to identify and separate different materials.
• A can-do attitude, you will be open to undertaking training to diversify your skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and basic computer literacy.
• Previous experience in customer service and/or similar roles.

Desirable Criteria

• Forklift ticket highly regarded
• WTR license
