Job summary

AROA, a New Zealand born medical device company, is seeking an Operational Quality Engineer to support quality and compliance in manufacturing. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a regulated environment while helping identify and resolve quality issues.

You’ll review batch records, provide day-to-day quality support, and assist investigations into non-conformances, helping implement corrective actions and promote best practices across Quality and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in quality, safety and compliance.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, GMP and GDP.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem solving.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Review manufacturing batch records and product release activities per GMP/GDP and internal requirements.
• Provide day-to-day quality support to the manufacturing team, including inspections, labelling and product preparation.
• Assist investigations into quality issues and non-conformances, and support corrective actions.
• Review manufacturing-related quality documentation and ensure procedures are followed.
• Work with Quality and Manufacturing teams to promote quality requirements and GMP practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and systems.

About the role:

As an Operational Quality Engineer at AROA, you’ll help support the quality and compliance of our products and manufacturing processes. Working closely with our Manufacturing and Quality teams, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in a regulated medical device environment while helping to identify and resolve quality issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support the review of manufacturing batch records and product release activities in line with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GDP (Good Documentation Practice) and internal quality requirements
• Provide day-to-day quality support to the manufacturing team, including inspections, labelling and product preparation
• Assist with investigations into quality issues and non-conformances, and support the implementation of corrective actions
• Support the review of manufacturing-related quality documentation and help ensure procedures are followed
• Work with the Quality and Manufacturing teams to promote quality requirements and good manufacturing practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities that strengthen quality processes and systems

Please note: This is a 6-month fixed-term contract

What You’ll Bring:

You’ll have a genuine interest in quality, safety and compliance, along with a relevant science or engineering degree.

• An interest in developing your knowledge of Quality Management Systems, GMP and GDP
• Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem‑solving approach
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities in a regulated manufacturing environment
