Job summary

Blue Star Collard in Auckland is seeking a qualified Offset Printer for full-time work on a 3 x 12-hour shift pattern at our state-of-the-art site. You will operate offset presses, perform machine setup, manage colour, and ensure high-quality output while coordinating materials to minimise downtime.

The role requires a trade qualification in printing and at least 3 years’ offset printing experience, with a proactive, team-oriented approach and commitment to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• A trade qualification in printing and at least 3 years’ experience in an offset printing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and computer savvy with attention to detail.
• Experience with health & safety and food quality systems (HACCP) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate offset presses to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Set up machines, manage colour, and optimise printing performance.
• Produce high-quality work with regular checks and complete tasks accurately.
• Coordinate materials, inks and consumables to minimise downtime and ensure make-ready efficiency.
• Ensure preventative maintenance and operator servicing tasks are performed and recorded.
• Liaise with the wider print team, maintain safety and compliance on the floor.

About the Role

Due to ongoing growth and investment in the industry’s latest technology, we are looking for a qualified Offset Printers to join our Auckland team at our new state of the art, HACCP certified, supersite.

We require a full time Offset Printer. In the fulltime role, you’ll be operating on a 3 x 12-hour shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operating our offset presses to meet production targets and quality standards
• Machine setup, managing colour, and ensuring optimal printing performance
• Producing high quality work, ensuring regular checks, completing job tasks
• Coordinating all materials, inks, and consumables to minimise downtime and ensuring make ready efficiency
• Ensuring all Preventative Maintenance and operator servicing tasks are performed and recorded
• Liaising with the wider print team including assistants, whilst ensuring safety and compliance on the floor.

About you:

• A trade qualification in printing and at least 3 years’ experience in an offset printing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude, computer savvy, with an eye for detail
• Experience working with health & safety and food quality systems i.e. HACCP
• A proactive, team-oriented approach with an interest in ongoing learning and continuous improvement
