Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora Waitematā is seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team in a permanent, 1.0 FTE role (Monday to Friday). You will contribute to assessment, intervention, discharge planning and coordination for patients requiring acute admission.

You will work within a supportive, learning-focused environment with experienced clinicians, clinical coaches, and regular supervision.

Qualifications

  • Be a registered Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • Have 2+ years of recent experience in an acute hospital setting.
  • Have a passion for inpatient, acute care.
  • Be committed to team work and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Be flexible and adaptable within a busy, fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality assessment, intervention, discharge planning and coordination for a wide range of patients requiring acute hospital admission.

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic occupational therapist to join our highly skilled and dedicated occupational therapy team at Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora Waitematā.

In this full-time role, you will be a part of a great team of experienced therapists, working together to provide a high standard of assessment, intervention, and discharge planning and coordination to a wide range of patients requiring acute hospital admission. You will be an instrumental part of our interdisciplinary team, collaborating and working with patients to achieve positive health outcomes.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of acute occupational therapists works across a wide variety of inpatient wards, including (but not limited to) orthopaedics, surgical, general medical and ED/ADU. We are a close-knit team who are dedicated to providing a high standard of care to our Waitematā community.

About you

Our ideal candidate will:
