Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Auckland is seeking a highly motivated senior Registered Nurse for the Nurse Educator role in General Surgery & Trauma. This permanent full‑time position (1.0 FTE) offers an opportunity to shape learning and development across busy services and advance clinical education.

You will work with General Surgical and Trauma teams to assess learning needs, deliver targeted education, and foster a positive work environment that reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity

Qualifications

  • Registration with NCNZ is required.
  • Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice is required.
  • Masters degree progress is encouraged.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and innovative senior Registered Nurse for the role of Nurse Educator, General Surgery & Trauma.

  • Work collaboratively and innovatively within the General Surgical & Trauma teams and will assess and deliver on learning needs.

To hit the ground running in this role it would be advantageous if you have the following:

  • Evidence of competence to practice within the Registered Nurse scope of Practice
  • Advanced specialty knowledge and practice expertise.
  • Proficient or Expert Level of practice.
  • Practice assessment, appraisal and feedback skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles
  • A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development
  • Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice.
  • Working towards completion of Masters Degree in nursing or a health related area.
