Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in New Plymouth seeks a skilled nuclear medicine technologist to join the radiology team at Taranaki Base Hospital. You will perform diverse imaging procedures and support patient-centred care.

The department performs sentinel node, bone, thyroid, gastric emptying and other studies with modern equipment like Siemens Pro SPECTA. NZ registration and APCE required; you will work with a friendly team and training students.

Qualifications

• NZ registration and current annual practising certificate.
• Strong technical and clinical imaging skills.
• Excellent communication and patient care.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.
• Commitment to quality healthcare and teamwork.
• Willingness to train students.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures including sentinel nodes, bone scans, gated hearts, thyroids, gastric emptying, renal studies and perfusion scans.
• Collaborate with radiology team to deliver high-quality clinical outcomes.
• Provide compassionate patient care and education.
• Contribute to a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
