Job description
New Zealand Service Technician Supervisor

The Field Service Supervisor will lead, motivate and mentor a team of three Field Service Technicians, delegating tasks and managing workloads. You must be capable of providing hands‑on support as required to Customers, Technicians and Business partners to resolve complex issues ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will be based in the Penrose office, and you will manage a small team of skilled Technicians. You are expected to have a proven record of leadership experience, including a history of implementing change, training and improvement to an established team of Technicians. The ability to travel is an essential component of this role, as is a track record of building strong, loyal and respectful relationships with Customers, Management and Service Teams.

  • Be an effective, reliable business partner and successfully manage the company’s after‑market business.
  • Lead and manage field service personnel, identify training requirements, provide feedback through the personnel annual review process and coach a team of Technicians focusing on continuous improvement of skills and exceptional customer service methodology.
  • Liaise with Customers and provide technical analysis, assessment and advice on maintenance, potential equipment upgrades and/or improvements.
  • Actively pursue preventative maintenance agreements with key accounts to promote year‑over‑year revenue growth and meet budget targets as defined by the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Self‑motivated to perform at a high level with a sense of urgency to achieve.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multi‑task in a challenging industrial environment.
  • Trained in safe work practices and the use of SWMS and JSA in reactive and preventative maintenance situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, with good comprehension skills and effective communication.
  • Good electrical‑mechanical aptitude; trade qualifications are beneficial but not required.
  • Current forklift licence and restricted electrical licence, or the ability to obtain them, is essential.
