Job summary

Extrastaff is hiring Construction Specialists for full-time, permanent roles across New Zealand. Positions are site-based and allocated per project demand, with PPE and tools provided.

You will work on major infrastructure and commercial projects, reading drawings and building frames, walls, and finishes, while travelling to multiple sites nationwide. The ideal candidate has 2 years in construction or a Level 4 qualification, a valid NZ driver license, and a strong commitment to health and

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in construction or a Level 4 qualification.
• NZ Driver license or overseas equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to new environments.
• Experience on commercial, infrastructure, or civil construction projects preferred.
• Sound knowledge of H&S procedures.
• Commitment to workplace health, safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Construct, install and repair framework and structures, formwork, framing, cladding and finishing work.
• Cut materials, assemble and install doors, windows, cladding, insulation, linings, and finishing elements.
• Construct concrete formwork and related structures; assist in pouring concrete if required.
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding and access equipment safely; ensure safety standards are followed.
• Cover subfloors with building paper and lay hardwood, parquet or wood strip floors.
• Repair and maintain existing fittings; load/unload materials and transport them on-site.
• Travel to project sites across the country as required.
