Job summary

The Department of Conservation (DOC) in New Zealand seeks a Visitor Safety and Standards Manager to lead the national centre of expertise for visitor safety, natural hazards and visitor standards. You will guide systems, standards and capability to support evidence-based decision-making across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading national-level safety or risk-management programs.
• Ability to influence across agencies and sectors.
• Proven track record in governance, reporting and executive briefings.

Responsibilities

• Lead DOC's national centre for visitor safety, standards and capability.
• Drive strategic improvements in visitor safety performance and governance.
• Foster cross-government and sector collaboration to improve safety outcomes.
• Lead and develop a high-performing national team across a dispersed workforce.
• Advise regional operations on specialist visitor safety and standards.
