Job summary

Aliaxis New Zealand seeks a National Purchasing Manager to elevate purchasing across five sites nationwide. You will lead a small team, balance daily operations with strategic improvements, and drive smarter ways of working while challenging the status quo.

The role reports to the GM Supply Chain and requires hands-on leadership, strong supplier management, and a passion for process excellence in a manufacturing/industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Commercially minded purchasing leader with ability to create structure and drive change.
• Strong change management; ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience leading purchasing/supply chain teams in manufacturing or FMCG environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead NZ Purchasing Team and develop a high-performing culture.
• Drive purchasing across direct and indirect categories to support operations.
• Review and standardise purchasing processes for efficiency and compliance.
• Identify improvements, automation opportunities, and best-practice ways of working.
• Develop meaningful supplier performance reporting to aid decisions.
• Build strong supplier partnerships and manage performance.
• Support procurement initiatives including RFPs and supplier engagement.
• Lead procurement compliance including trade and modern slavery obligations.
• Improve data quality and readiness for future system enhancements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance, Sales and Marketing.
