Job summary

Cashmere High School in Christchurch invites applications for a part-time Multi-materials Teacher (0.7 FTE) for 2027. You will join a high-performing Technology team delivering practical design and fabrication modules.

You will teach across wood, metal, and plastics, contribute to co-curricular activities, and engage in ongoing professional development while upholding health and safety standards.

The role begins in 2027; NZ Registered Teacher status required; beginning teachers welcome.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Multi-materials Teacher to teach in our high-performing, collaborative team of Technology staff.

The successful candidate will inspire students to strive for excellence and will be committed to delivering a high-quality teaching and learning programme.

This is a fixed term part-time 0.7 FTE (14 contact periods) position for the 2027 academic year. Beginning teachers can apply.

Key Skills & Attributes

• Motivated and enthusiastic Technology teacher with a passion for the design process and physical prototyping.
• Experience across wood, metal, and plastics is desirable (or a strong specialism with a willingness to expand across materials).
• Familiarity with CAD and CNC technology (embedded in our senior curriculum).
• Confident working in a practical workshop environment with a strong commitment to health and safety standards.
