Health New Zealand - Counties Manukau Radiology invites applications for a full-time MRI Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT). The role involves working across Middlemore and Manukau Health Park imaging services, interpreting referrals, and adapting MRI sequences to produce high-quality images in a busy trauma hospital environment.

The successful candidate will hold APC in MRI scope, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and supervision of trainees.

Qualifications

• Must hold APC in the MRI scope with NZ Medical Radiation Technologist Board.
• Full-time permanent MRI MIT position with 8-hour shifts on weekdays.
• Experience interpreting referrals and adapting sequences to produce high-quality diagnostic MRI images.
• Overtime shifts available for permanent staff to meet service demand.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI service across Middlemore and Manukau Health Park imaging.
• Interpret referrals and apply clinical decision-making to optimize sequences.
• Contribute to the on-call roster with rotation typically 1-in-6 weeks (up to 1-in-4).
• Support supervision and training for MIT trainees.
