Job summary

Qualifications

• Registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team.
• A keen interest in science and laboratory practice.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately.
• A positive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Previous medical laboratory experience is preferred.
• Computer and data entry experience.
• Knowledge of the wider health sector and laboratory environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures and process specimens in a busy microbiology department.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as required.
• Assist the wider technical team to ensure accurate and timely results.
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement in procedures.
• Support delivery of high-quality laboratory services to patient care across Hawke's Bay.
